Terrex Energy Inc. has two primary projects in Alberta consisting of three distinct oil pools. The Strathmore Lower Manville B pool is located 30 km southeast of Calgary, Alberta and was Terrex’s principal property during the formation of the corporation in 2010. Acquired for it suitability for EOR, it holds immediate potential for additional infill drilling and an improvement in the water flood scheme, with new water injection well locations and higher injection volumes for improved sweep efficiency. Laboratory work has demonstrated that the Strathmore pool is a strong candidate for an Alkaline-Surfactant-Polymer (ASP) flood.
The Two Creek property was acquired in March 2011, and consists of two Jurassic Rock Creek pools; the Two Creek A pool and the Two Creek B Pool. The A Pool was also identified as a pool with immediate potential for infill drilling as wells as an opportunity for realigning the water flood. The A pool is a strong candidate for a Polymer flood.
The B Pool is pressure depleted and not an immediate candidate for infill drilling, water flood or chemical flooding. However, technical studies undertaken by Terrex have indicated that the pool is well suited for re-pressurization with water, which would ultimately improve oil recovery and present an opportunity for infill drilling for even greater oil recovery from the pool.
The Two Creek property is located approximately 50 km northwest of Whitecourt, Alberta.
